Sporty Everyday Women’s Watches – From Rolex to Casio

Has anyone else experienced this? As a woman, when you go to buy a watch, you’re often directed straight to the jewelry section. No! I want a watch that can handle everyday life; a watch with a sporty design and a level of robustness to match. Plus, diamonds aren’t exactly suited to every occasion. With that in mind, we’ve put together a list of our favorite everyday women’s watches. No matter your style, no matter your taste in watches, you are bound to find something among these picks that suits your lifestyle – and it will be much more than just a pretty piece of jewelry.

Rolex Explorer

Always liked the idea of owning a Rolex? Then be sure to take a look at the Explorer. Coming in at 36 mm and boasting an elegant, understated look, the Rolex Explorer makes an ideal everyday timepiece. It looks great with any sports attire, but it doesn’t stop there. Wear it to work, to play with your child at the park – this watch can do it all! The Explorer is highly legible thanks to its black dial paired with luminescent numerals, indices, and hands. The technology is also on point, as evidenced by the 70-hour power reserve and minimal daily deviation from the reference time. Unsure that a luxury watch is really suited to every activity? Afraid you might scratch this substantial investment? Well, this Rolex was designed with extreme conditions in mind. The model has made it to the top of Mount Everest, and spelunkers and speleologists rely on it on a regular basis. As far as I know, it hasn’t let anyone down yet! You can rest assured that this timepiece is up for the challenges of everyday life. It will not disappoint, and remember, the odd scratch here or there is what gives a watch character. Each scratch tells a story and makes the watch uniquely yours.

Breitling Superocean Automatic 36

Is water your element of choice? Then you need to get yourself a diving watch. The Breitling Superocean Automatic 36 is proof that diving watches aren’t just pure sports watches. This timepiece looks great in the water, at the beach bar afterwards, or literally anywhere you find yourself. Its ample water resistance, scratch-resistant ceramic bezel, and rubber strap make it very durable. Plus, it’s easy to read in any lighting conditions thanks to the luminous hands and indices. The rotating bezel isn’t just useful for diving, either. Need to time something else on a regular basis? No problem! Another major bonus, in my opinion, is that the Breitling Superocean Automatic 36 is available in white, orange, or turquoise. The color palette has that coveted summer feeling and can bring some brightness to dull gray days. With this timepiece, you can keep that wonderful beach vacation vibe going all year round, at least on your wrist.

Tissot PRX 35mm

My next suggestion for the perfect everyday watch will transport you back to the late 1970s. The Tissot PRX 35mm not only has the era’s iconic design and bold color scheme, but also what was revolutionary technology at the time. I’m talking, of course, about a quartz movement. Quartz calibers made it possible to build timepieces with even slimmer profiles, and this watch is no exception. The hands are even stacked tightly to give the watch a flatter look. The Tissot PRX 35mm features an integrated bracelet, meaning it does completely without lugs and nestles perfectly against your wrist. While this model is now available with an automatic movement, I’m not sure if that’s necessary. In my opinion, the Tissot PRX 35mm is the poster child for the benefits of quartz technology: slim design, perfect accuracy, and completely durable. Don’t get me wrong, mechanical watches are brilliant, but that doesn’t mean all quartz watches should be scoffed at. They mark an important milestone in the industry’s history, and sometimes they’re just convenient. That’s why I couldn’t not include at least one quartz timepiece in this lineup. And if I had to pick a quartz watch, there is no better celebration of quartz technology than the Tissot PRX 35mm.

Casio GM-S5600

You might be a bit surprised to see this model included, but let’s not be biased. It is more than okay to wear a Casio G-Shock as a die-hard watch fan, because sometimes you need a watch, and other times you just need a Casio G-Shock. Whether you’re going rock climbing and don’t want to stress about your watch coming into contact with the cliffs, or painting your house and would prefer your luxury watch not get splattered, sometimes you need a very durable timepiece. While much of this series is very generous when it comes to sizing, at 38.5 mm, the Casio GM-S5600 makes an ideal unisex watch. The model has a minimalist 90s look, and despite its sharp corners and edges, it even looks elegant in the white and stainless steel variant. In terms of specs, it offers everything you would expect from a highly accurate, quartz-powered Casio: It’s shockproof, water-resistant to 200 m (656 ft), and boasts a 1/100 of a second stopwatch function, as well as an alarm and timer. This timepiece is my recommendation for extreme situations where a smartphone just won’t cut it.

TAG Heuer Monaco

Are you a bit unconventional? Then why choose a conventional watch? Break free of gendered norms and don a classic men’s watch you love. The TAG Heuer Monaco is an absolute icon. Its square design is simply breathtaking and completely unmistakable. Avant-garde? Revolutionary? Racing watch? Completely its own? There’s no point in trying to pigeonhole this timepiece, it just doesn’t fit into any specific category. Measuring 39 mm in diameter, it has a good wrist presence without being too big. Thanks to 100 m (328 ft) of water resistance and an 80-hour power reserve, it can handle the rigors of everyday life. The TAG Heuer Monaco is simultaneously a statement piece with its iconic color scheme. The model was made in honor of the Monaco Grand Prix – and it was worn by none other than Steve McQueen, but that’s not the end of its story. Make this watch your own by wearing it! It is a timepiece to be worn by the bold and the brave – sound like you?

Chopard Alpine Eagle 36 mm

Unfortunately, Chopard is still very much under the radar of many watch lovers. Thus, the Chopard Alpine Eagle is somewhat of an insider tip for outdoor enthusiasts. But it’s also a perfect watch for anyone who appreciates beautiful things. The Chopard Alpine Eagle is pure luxury reduced to the bare essentials: a three-hand watch with a sporty, elegant design and fantastic attention to detail. It is impressive in terms of technology – chronometer certification is nothing to laugh at – but the visuals are even more outstanding. The sunburst dial is reminiscent of an eagle’s eye, and the shape of the second hand counterweight was inspired by an eagle’s feather. The steel bracelet is also unique; the middle links are slightly raised, evoking the mountainous regions where the majestic birds reside. There is also a small compass rose on the crown. This timepiece is a great choice for anyone who admires the power and determination of eagles, mountains, and nature generally. Above all, it is a fantastic timepiece for those who want a perfect, sporty, and elegant daily wrist companion.

The moment I learned that watches were a lot more than just simple jewelry, I was hooked; I become enamored with the elegance of timekeeping. But there was one small hitch: most models were just too big for me to wear! That didn't discourage me, however. In fact, I developed quite a niche interest.
