Na de Lunascope presenteert MeisterSinger nu de Stratoscope, zijn tweede model met een grote maanfaseaanduiding. En het is niet alleen de grotere kastdiameter van 43 mm waardoor de Stratoscope een compleet nieuw concept is wat betreft design. De krachtige, mannelijke kast omlijst de ongewone grote maanfaseaanduiding. Het fotorealistische beeld van de natuurlijke satelliet van de aarde komt overeen met de astronomische precisie waarmee de Stratoscope de verschillende maanfasen voorstelt.

Onvergelijkbare precisie
De baan van de maan om de aarde duurt 29 dagen, 12 uur, 44 minuten en 2,9 seconden. Op de meeste horloges wordt dit getal door middel van het uurwerk afgerond op 29,5 dag, wat betekent dat ze acht uur per jaar afwijken en elk derde jaar een gehele dag moeten worden bijgesteld. Maar het kaliber MS Luna van de Stratoscope is veel nauwkeuriger. In theorie hoeft de maanfaseaanduiding pas na 128 jaar licht worden bijgesteld.

Lichtgevende aurora borealis

In het onderste derde deel loopt het inktzwarte van de wijzerplaat over in een glinsterend lichtspektakel in verschillende blauwtinten die doen denken aan het noorderlicht. En boven dit spektakel doorloopt de ’s nachts oplichtende maan zijn baan om de aarde. Het unieke tafereel wordt getransformeerd tot een lichtspektakel door de uur markeringen, die ook oplichten, en de lichtgevende naaldvormige wijzer. De dubbele cijfers die zo kenmerkend zijn voor MeisterSinger zijn van 01 tot 12 rond de wijzerplaat geplaatst, wat de indruk van harmonie en evenwicht nog eens versterkt. Buiten alle aandacht voor detail heeft dit horloge een strak, opgeruimd uiterlijk.

With the Stratoscope, MeisterSinger presents the second model featuring a moon phase display.

The upper half of the dial features a dynamic cut in which the luminescent, photorealistic moon circles. The unique scene is transformed into an interplay of light by the hour markers, and the luminous needle-shaped hand, which also glow. In its lower third, the jet black dial merges into all varying shades of blue, reminiscent of the aurora borealis visible in the far North. The double-digit numerals so typical for MeisterSinger are arranged in a circle from 01 to 12 around the dial, reinforcing the impression of harmony and balance. Despite all this attention to detail, the watch has a crisp, uncluttered appearance.

The moon takes 29 days, 12 hours, 44 minutes, and 2.9 seconds to circumnavigate the Earth. Most watches with moon indication round this figure down to 29.5 days via the movement, which means they deviate by eight hours per year and need adjusting by one complete day every third year. However, the movement specially designed for the MeisterSinger Stratoscope is far more exact. Its moon-phase indicator only needs a slight adjustment after 122 years. The workings of the Swiss automatic movement equipped with the moon-phase module can be viewed through the screwed glass exhibition back. Its rotor supplies the watch with a 38-hour power reserve.

The powerful, masculine case with a diameter of 43mm is water-resistant up to 5 bar and the dial is covered by a domed sapphire glass.
