Description |
We are proud to present this stylish and desirable Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch ‘Snoopy’ Limited Edition watch for sale.
The Omega Speedmaster has become synonymous with NASA and space missions since the earliest days of spaceflight, having proved itself a most capable timepiece on a number of missions. None more famous than the Apollo 13 mission, where a malfunction in the module required the Speedmaster to time ignition of the rockets to shorten the estimated length of the return to Earth, and secondly, to time the ignition of the rockets to decrease speed and raise the flight path angle for re-entry into the Earth’s atmosphere. This second operation was crucial, since any mistake in the timing could have led to an incorrect entry angle and, as a result, potential disaster for the crew. Finally, the rest of the flight went well and the crew returned to Earth alive on 17 April 1970. The Silver Snoopy award is defined as a special honour awarded to NASA employees and contractors for outstanding achievements related to human flight safety or mission success and was presented to Omega following the mission. In 2003 Omega introduced the first version of the Speedmaster featuring the Snoopy motif and as of writing (2024) has now spawned 3 different versions, all of which are extremely collectable. This is the MK I "FIRST EDITION" reference 3758.51.00 and it comes set in a polished 42mm stainless steel case with the classic black fixed tachymetre bezel. The dial is the most similar to the original Moonwatch design, however this version contains the Snoopy emblem in the 9 o’clock sub-dial. The dial is protected by a domed hesalite plexi-glass and the watch is powered by the Omega calibre 1861 manual wind chronograph, which is protected by a solid caseback which is engraved with the watches limited edition number and has a large Snoopy ‘eyes on the stars’ emblem on. It comes fitted on the matching stainless steel bracelet with a folding Omega clasp. Originally purchased in December 2003 and in mint collectors condition. this Speedmaster comes with its original Omega inner and outer boxes, instruction booklet, limited edition certificate, black leather card holder, pictogram and international warranty cards. This Omega is sold with a 12-month warranty from SWC and would be an incredible piece for any Omega enthusiast. Please contact us for shipping costs to the E.U. Do you have any questions?
Certified watches can be identified by the green "C" icon in the search results and in the listing. You can also filter search results to only view Certified watches. On the listing page, you can see whether Certified is already included or whether it's an optional add-on to your purchase. See also: What's the difference between Certified Included and Certified Optional?
2. Certification by verified watchmakers
Before you receive your watch, it will be checked and certified by a verified watchmaker. Among other things, the watchmaker checks whether your watch matches the listing information and whether it complies with our definition of authenticity.
3. Receive your watch and digital certificate of authenticity
After successful certification, you can rest assured your new watch is genuine. This is confirmed by a certificate of authenticity, which you can access digitally after receiving your watch.
If you purchase from a private seller, we will hold the purchase amount in our escrow account for 7 days after you receive your watch. Please note, however, that private sellers are not legally mandated to accept returns.
Certified is our new certification service whereby verified watchmakers check and certify the authenticity of watches to provide customers on our marketplace with a worry-free buying experience. After successful certification, you'll receive a digital certificate of authenticity that confirms the watch meets our definition of authenticity and matches the information in the listing. Certified watches come with a three-year authenticity guarantee. See also: How is the watch checked?
If you've selected a watch with Certified as an optional add-on, you can book certification for an additional charge of €199. In this case, the watch will be checked by one of our in-house watchmakers before being shipped to you. See also: What's included in Certified Optional?
If you book certification for a watch that is not already certified, you pay the purchase price of the watch plus an additional €199 for certification. We will only issue an invoice for the certification if you expressly request one.
The check includes the following:
Authenticity check: We check both the exterior and interior of the watch against our definition of authenticity. See also: How do we define authenticity?
Condition check: We check whether the condition of the watch matches the information in the listing, including the complications, winding mechanism, chronograph function, and more. See also: How do we define authenticity?
Scope of delivery check: All additional items, e.g., original box and papers, are checked for completeness and accordance with the model reference.
Stolen watch check: We check whether the watch's serial number is listed in the leading stolen watches databases. This ensures that there are no thefts reported for the serial number.
Private sellers are not legally mandated to accept returns.
